我们建议在服用牛初乳前或后相隔30分钟才服用其他药物或补充剂。空肚时食用最佳，宜用低于摄氏50度的温水冲饮，以免破坏其活性功能组份。在食用牛初乳期间，有一部分人士会出现某些反应，例如:大便变干、轻度腹泻或排便次数增多、经常放屁、口干、痰多等等。这些排毒反应，一般在持续数天至一、两周后会自然消失。刚出生3个月内的婴幼儿不宜直接服用纯牛初乳，因其未健全的消化系统无法吸收过多的蛋白质,但可在婴儿奶粉中添加适值的牛初乳奶粉。 由于每个人的体质及承受能力不尽相同，所以反应亦各有异。如遇好转反应较强者，可减量食用;如遇好转反应非常强烈者，可暂停食用，待好转反应消除后，始将用量逐步增加，直到回复建议用量。
